All homework up to, and including Chapter 13 is to be handed in on Monday, 19 November 2007. Please leave a copy of each lesson (that there is a file created) in your folder on the "S" drive > Illustrator-Fall directory. I will collect the files to be graded.

Review homework. Painting, gradients, and patterns.
Using type, and the type tools. Plus (since we didn't get to it in class#4), compound objects.

Week 4 (8 October)

Review homework. Compound objects, and grouping. Fundamentals of typography. Plus (since we didn't get to it in class#3), the pen, pencil, and brush tools, as well as color spaces, and color theory.

Review homework. Basic shapes, fill, stroke, and color. Combining basic shapes to make complex shapes. Objects and layers, gradients and patterns. More hands-on practice using the pen tool.

Vector basics, and history. Vector vs. pixel. Introduction to Adobe Illustrator: the work area, tools & their functions, menus, pallets, and file formats. Hands-on practice using the pen tool.

Course Description

CIS310 - Illustrator

This course serves as an introduction to Illustrator, a graphics program, and its tools and techniques. Instruction will include the fundamentals of creating and manipulating graphics, color, and type, and preparing designs for print or the Internet, and other topics as time allows.
